I’m Kerri, and I’ve been a writing consultant, editor, and proofreader for more than two decades. I’ve edited, proofread, and critiqued 27 million words: novels, novellas, short stories, PhD theses, business correspondence, blog posts, application letters, admissions essays, CVs, academic manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, and more. Since 2007, I’ve been a contract editor for the world’s premier online editing and proofreading company.

I’m the holder of a PhD from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. Prior to undertaking doctoral studies, I completed two master’s degrees and a diploma in language education. I have various editing and proofreading qualifications and continue to engage in professional development activities. I'm also a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.

Before becoming a writing consultant, I was a language teacher and a freelance translator, so I’ve been working with words for decades. I have clients around the globe, and I’m equally comfortable editing US, British, and Canadian English.

Whether I’m polishing academic articles written by researchers, prose produced by writers of fiction, or words in some other form, I’m unwaveringly passionate about what I do—making written content look good! I will ensure that your writing is not only grammatically correct but also crystal clear, cohesive, and impactful. The result? On a more personal note, I collect memes, love to laugh, and enjoy reading (although I can hardly find the time to read material I’m not editing).
